Doses of Product Inspiration

Updated: Aug 7, 2023

This Blog Post is a collection of the regular updates we will post on our thread account: follow us on threads @venturis_inc:

  • Behind every great and well designed innovation, there lies a messy prototype or Proof of Concept (July 11th, 2023)

  • The most Important step in the pursuit of an innovation is defining the problem statement (July 14th, 2023)

  • Dream big when setting your goals for a disruptive innovation - the only way you will discover your limits is to set the bar high (July 17th, 2023)

  • Innovation is not for the faint-hearted: Success will demand Grit, Perseverance and tenacity (July 18th, 2023)

  • Customer Centricity and Business Value are THE critical components of a Use Case Definition - You will rarely get this right the first time, do not give up - Iterate till you are satisfied that the use case delivers business value for the end customer. Congratulate yourself at each Iteration and recognize that you are making progress (July 19th, 2023)

  • Reposting something today rather than an original product inspiration : Attitude is everything (See graphic below) ( July 20th, 2023)

  • If you cannot articulate your “why” and the problem statement simply enough, you need to iterate before you jump to solution/execution (July 21, 2023)

  • By all means, set yourself a Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG). However if it seems too far away when you start, break it into smaller steps and share and celebrate the milestones with the team. Pretty soon, the Goal will be just another short step away (July 22, 2023)

  • Use case Definition is a key part of the User Centricity pillar of Product Thinking. However, before you can define Use Cases, be very clear on who the user is - there can be no user centricity without a clear definition of "the user" (July 23, 2023)

  • Delivering recurring business value to end customers is the only way to generate sustained recurring revenues (July 24, 2023)

  • Being Objective is essential when applying the Iterative Approach as part of your Innovation Journey. It may feel like you are going around in circles but as long as you are learning, there will be progress (July 25th, 2023)

  • Knowing your Strengths and Weakness(es) is going to serve you well as you try to navigate the innovator’s dilemma; Chances are that the next opportunity lies in improving your Weakness(es) while building from your Strengths (July 26th, 2023)

  • If you are pursuing your innovation journey for Impact and Purpose, be very clear on that priority and build a team that shares the values, write down your values along with mission and make this a part of your "why". Enjoy the journey with the team and the Impact and Purpose will fall right in place. (July 27th, 2023)

  • Zen and the art of Product Management: So, what is Product Management and why is it important for an Innovation Culture. Read more about this in our blog at our website (July 28th, 2023)

  • Reusing a non product quote today from Samuel Becket. Equally applicable to Product Thinking (Iterative Approach) "Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better." —Samuel Beckett (July 29th, 2023)

  • Going to Apply the Ikigai Lens to “Product Innovation” in the next few posts. Let’s start with “What the World ” - This is an important part of the “Why” or the “Mission Statement” for your Organization and the key question as you define the “Purpose” for your organization. (Aug 4th, 2023)

  • Continuing with the Ikigai Lens to “Product Innovation”. We started with “Purpose”. Next as you look to define/refine the Problem Statement, it is best to apply a mix of “What the World Wants” (Mission) and “What you Love to do” (Passion) and you are well on the way to defining a successful Problem Statement that you are likely better equipped to solve than others (More on this in the next post) (Aug 7th, 2023)
